Midnight Basketball
Mayor Dickens—in collaboration with the Atlanta Police Department and the Department of Parks and Recreation—created Midnight Basketball—a program geared toward strengthening public safety. The pilot program was so successful that a second location was established for the second season of the league. Community providers are on site at every game to provide services which include job assistance, credit union services, record expungement, GED preparedness and substance abuse support.
