Policing Alternatives & Diversion Initiative
The Policing Alternatives & Diversion (PAD) Initiative works to reduce the arrest and incarceration of people experiencing extreme poverty, problematic substance use, or mental health concerns, and increase the accessibility of supportive services in Atlanta and Fulton County. Mayor Dickens significantly increased investments in PAD in his first budget, as well as invested additional American Recovery Plan dollars in the Pre-Arrest Diversion Center.
