Supporting Our Police
In June, Mayor Dickens announced new retention bonuses for uniformed police personnel. Atlanta Police Officers, Investigators, Sergeants and Lieutenants received a $4,000 retention bonus,. Atlanta Police Captains, Majors and Chiefs will receive $1,000 retention bonuses. The bonuses are extended to sworn officers of all service tenures and are an incentive to remain in service for 18 months. The bonuses are in addition to the 2 percent citywide cost-of-living increases in Mayor Dickens’ FY23 budget. Uniformed personnel will see total year compensation increases ranging from 5.9 percent to 10.25 percent.
